Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $19.33 - Midpoint: $24.18 (Hourly N5) Department/Organization: 500202 - Life and Fire Safety Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm; Varies Job Summary: The Environmental Hazard Technician II performs inspections, testing, and environmental monitoring services in one of the following areas within the Department of Environmental Health and Safety: environmental hazards, hazardous waste, general safety, life safety, laboratory safety, or occupational safety. Additional Department Summary: Provides inspection services of safety equipment in University of Alabama facilities including, but not limited to, fire extinguishers, smoke alarms, exit lights, automated external defibrillators, emergency lights, and other safety and/or security items. Tasks and inspections are completed in accordance with IFC, NFPA and other fire and life safety standards or codes. May provide assistance to other Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) functions on a regular basis and may be required to respond after hours.
