Casual On Call - No Guaranteed Hours This position is at the L06 level with an hourly pay range of $35.94 to $45.47 (PSAC Bargaining Unit) Reporting to the Manager of Medical Rehabilitation Services and working with staff of the Yukon Hospital Corporation (YHC) and the general public, the Rehabilitation Assistant (RA) assists Physiotherapists (PT), Occupational Therapists (OT), and Speech Language Therapists (SLP) in the rehabilitation of hospital patients. This position performs assigned tasks and treatments for hospital patients under the clinical direction of an OT, PT, or SLP. Knowledge, skills, and abilities required: The successful candidate is required to have a Therapy Assistant (OTA or PTA) diploma from an accredited Canadian program or a Kinesiology Degree with at least one year of experience working as a Rehabilitation Assistant. Recent experience providing treatment under the direction of a physiotherapist/occupational therapist in a hospital setting, experience ordering rehab equipment & supplies and experience with mechanical checks and minor repairs of wheelchairs are desired.
