Summary: Under general supervision, the Heavy-duty Truck Technician inspects, diagnoses, and repairs moderately complex issues associated with diesel-powered vehicles and machines, like trucks, forklifts and construction equipment. Essential Duties And Responsibilities: - Performs preventative maintenance services in conformance to manufacturer specifications - Diagnoses and repairs heavy-duty vehicle and equipment systems - Orders parts as needed - Responds to road calls - Conducts road and static testing to verify repairs - Takes vehicles to and from outside vendors for repairs and services - Maintains a clean and orderly Fleet Shop - Follows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines - Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - High school diploma or equivalent - Four (4) years experience as a Diesel Engine Technician or the equivalent combination of education and experience - Furnishes own hand tools Internal Candidates: - Class B CDL driver’s license - EPA Section 609 Certification - ASE T4, T5 & T8 Certifications External Candidates: Thank you for your interest in...
