SUMMARY: Mortenson is currently seeking a Project Buyer I that will be responsible for working with project teams and suppliers to purchase materials, supplies, equipment and services. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers: solicit bids, analyze quotations, interview prospective suppliers, and select suppliers along with evaluating supplier performance based on quality, cost, and delivery time - Work with manager to develop profitable purchasing strategies and propose procurement solutions that deliver value and reduce risk - Create and maintain procurement logs for each supported operating group project - Negotiate and prepare purchase agreements and purchase orders. Ensure suppliers adhere to contractual terms and conditions, including timeliness and quality standards - Negotiate with suppliers to purchase items and services at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, and specification requirements - Analyze individual markets, handle budget and increase margin on a regular basis, track trends in purchasing habits - Track order status from time of placing order until delivery and communicate status to project teams - Visit proj...
