The Role: As a Satellite Remote Terminal Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Babcock have been awarded the contract to manage the infrastructure for the UK MOD satellite network, Skynet. Day-to-day, you’ll undertake preventative and corrective maintenance on land-based satellite communication terminals. This will involve maintaining the equipment to agreed levels of availability. The maintenance work covers; Electrical Safety Inspection and Test, Generator Servicing and Test, Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) Inspection and Test, RF Equipment Testing and Repair, Software and Baseband Testing and Repair, and General Equipment Repair.
