Job description

GAI Consultants is seeking an Inspector (CEI) based out of our Jacksonville, FL office for an immediate opening for ongoing projects. Under the direction of the CEI Project Administrator, the inspector's duties are primarily overseeing the contractor's work to assure compliance with plans and specifications. For this opportunity, good public relations, communication skills and the ability to collaborate with others are required. Job Duties: - Performing highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, making and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests. - Coordinating with and taking instructions from other senior inspection staff. - Interpret plans and specs. - Monitor contractor's work for compliance with contract documents. - Construction documentation including written reports and taking photos of onsite operations. - Tracking site quantities including construction math computation. - Permit compliance verification. - Materials verification including taking field samples at required frequencies.
