Job description

Description The Construction Inspector provides construction inspection activities on assigned road construction projects. Must maintain positive working relationships with project engineers, contractors, subconsultants, clients, the traveling public and CDOT or FHWA staff. Must adhere to quality assurance and safety standards. Required to maintain accurate progress reports in accordance with project requirements. Will provide inspection of construction activity in order to ensure the quality of construction and compliance with project plans, contracts, specifications, and special provisions. Requirements: - Serve as a construction inspector for transportation projects by overseeing construction of roads, highways and bridges to assure quality and safety in the construction of these facilities. - Review, inspect, test and/or measure the work of the contractors and consultants to ensure that work is performed in accordance with contract requirements. - Recommend to the project engineer approval and payment for acceptable and completed work, or rejection of non-conforming work. - Maintain accurate daily record of construction site activities and produce required reports on progress,...
