Job description

Base Pay: $17.38 Hourly . SUMMARY: Drives various kinds of trucks and operates various types of equipment engaged in the construction, repair and maintenance of streets, landfills, alleys, county facilities, grounds and in clearing rights-of-way. The employee is required to be on duty before, during, and after natural disasters and emergencies, as directed by the supervisor. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Regularly operates, inspects, and evaluates machinery, equipment, and systems to include front-end loaders, pneumatic roller, flat wheel roller, maintainer, tractor-operated auger, chip spreader, sheepsfoot roller, sweeper, compactor, and other equipment as assigned. Checks oil, water, fuel, tires, hydraulic system, etc. and makes appropriate adjustments in order to be certain that vehicle or equipment is in proper operating condition prior to leaving for the job site.
