Machine Operator/Blacksmith Department: Manufacturing & Distribution - Skilled Jobs Employment Type: Full Time: Location: North Kingstown, RI: Reporting To: Justin Mooney: Description: Set up and operate hydraulic presses to perform cold and hot forming operations to form U-Bolts, eye rods, and similar type products from raw steel stock. Conduct all activities in a safe manner and follow all safety rules and regulations. How You Will Help: - Work from operation traveler, prints and written or oral instructions to obtain raw material from storage, and to select and install required dies. - Locate and secure dies on machine table, shimming as necessary. - Use “blacksmithing” techniques to hot form bends. Apply torch to bend area, checking hear with temperature sticks to be within temperature range and bend part according to hot form specification and prints, making adjustment for spring back. - Set up and operate Bugo and cameograph torch cutting equipment. - Lay out and scribe dimensional points on parts. - Clamp down part, square out, center head, and align torch for straight cuts. - Set torch speeds according to tip size and part thickness, and torch cut parts to print specificati...
