The Ophthalmic Technician 1 (OT1) is competent in the theory, principles, and practice of eye care. The position performs appropriate clinical testing in compliance with department standards and documents in the EMR system. CORE JOB FUNCTIONS: Performs and documents the following items in the electronic medical record. A. Reason for visit • Tangent screen visual fields B. Chief complaint • Basic ocular motility C. History of present illness • Pupillary evaluation D. Basic review of systems • Ocular surface assessment E. Review systemic and ocular medications • Eye drop administration F. Record allergies • Intraocular pressure such as Goldman, Tono-Pen, and I-Care G. Pharmacy information • Pachymetry: H.
