Job description

The Truck Shop Maintenance Supervisor’s primary purpose is to optimize the ongoing maintenance repair activities to make the best use of available resources and best serve the needs of the department’s customers. The variables that the Supervisor considers performing the optimization of the department are Safety aspects, environmental impact, production impact, job priority, manpower availability, material availability, financial impact, job duration, customer desires, and planned maintenance program compliance. The Supervisor is responsible for and maintaining an organization capable of completing not only the necessary repairs to maintain equipment availability but identifying failure modes and correcting root causes. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Provides direct supervision to all hourly subordinates in the maintenance shop daily. - Coaches’ employees regarding job performance issues and provide feedback as needed. - Encourages conformance with environmental standards and practices during all phases of the maintenance effort daily. - Participates and monitors predictive/preventative maintenance activities to gather condition information weekly. - Identifies and communicates deficiencie...
