Pharmacy Technologist - Huntsville Central Pharmacy - ( 2601782 ) Description The mission of Correctional Managed Care is to address the healthcare needs of underserved patient populations within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) and the Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD). JOB SUMMARY: Assists Pharmacists in providing drug distribution, technical services, and clinical services associated with the preparation, storage, and dispensing of pharmaceuticals. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: EQUIPMENT : Standard office equipment and pharmacy equipment. - Prepares unit-dose medications specific to patient needs including patient’s weight, allergies, and age (e.g., pediatric, neonate, adolescent, adult, and geriatric). - Retrieves and delivers medication orders and supplies. - Prepares sterile products utilizing aseptic technique and USP 797 standards. - Compounds bulk and extemporaneous pharmaceuticals specific to patients needs including weight and age (e.g., pediatric, neonate, adolescent, adult, and geriatric) utilizing USP 795 standards. - Demonstrates the ability to operate automated technology including compounding, repackaging, cartfill and Automated Drug Systems. -...
