Job description

A Material Handler focuses on unloading barges in a safe efficient manner. Material Handlers are responsible for the safe operation of heavy equipment and basic maintenance and troubleshooting. Overtime work required. Out of town or county work will be required. Must be able to travel in Louisiana and Mississippi. 50% travel QUALIFICATIONS: - Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task. - Follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment. - Unloading aggregates from barges. - Competent to draft out and prep barges, general deckhand knowledge (knot tying) to properly secure barge and unloading cells. - Attendance required according to Company Attendance Policy to ensure crew can operate at normal efficiency level - Attitude/cooperation: always maintaining courteous and professional manner with co-workers. - Must be flexible with last minute schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes - Overtime work required.
