5 South is a 22‑bed medical telemetry unit that cares for young adults through geriatric patients with a wide range of medical needs. Our team supports patients who may require telemetry monitoring for conditions such as metabolic disorders, stable cardiovascular issues, renal concerns, GI bleeds, substance‑withdrawal management, diabetes, and various respiratory conditions. In addition, 5 South is the dedicated unit for all peritoneal dialysis patients in the hospital and also provides care for patients receiving plasmapheresis. Patients are placed on the unit based on their admitting diagnosis to ensure they receive the most appropriate level of care from the start.
