Job description

The operations coordinator manages and supervises the Aquatics and Recreation Center and Maclellan Gym, over 100,000 square feet of multipurpose, athletic and recreational space. Operational areas include building safety, event management, facility rentals, and open recreation. The coordinator hires, trains, evaluates and manages a staff over 20 student part-time employees and works with internal and external constituents for rentals, event planning and oversight. Primary Responsibilities: Staff Development: - The coordinator hires, trains, evaluates and supervises over 20 part-time student employees including building supervisors and event staff. - Trains staff in customer service, conflict management, risk management, communication, event management and business operations. - Creates, encourages and supports the professional development opportunities for student staff through training programs, professional association involvement and individual mentoring. - Plans in-service and coaching sessions with a strong emphasis on skill-development, transferable work skills, and staff empowerment. - Develops students in leadership positions through regular meetings and coaching sessions....
