Job description

Location: Hawaii Cancer Care Pay Range: $30.60 - $56.84 Position Summary: Responsible for daily specimen processing in the designated laboratory, including technical and non-technical duties. Communicates with staff physicians and other staff employees regarding patient’s specimen. Works with management personnel to ensure efficient and technically correct systems and procedures in the laboratory that includes QA/QC of reagents, instrumentation, proficiency testing, etc. Key Performance Areas: Prepare and process specimens for testing using CAP acceptable methods and standards. Reviews the daily technical systems for assurance of quality and efficiency. Perform tests according to approved policies and procedures for all phases of testing; pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic, as well as general laboratory specimens. Assures instruments and reagents are within quality parameters. Participates in laboratory research and development projects as needed and as time permits. Responsible for inventory and ordering of supplies. Exercises all precautions when handling hazardous chemicals that are irritating to mucous membranes and the skin.
