Laboratory Assistant - Summer PRN

Job description

Summary: This is a temporary/summer position, that is open to college students pursuing a healthcare career. We invite students pursuing a healthcare related degree, or other applicants interested in this summer position to apply. Essential Job Duties: - Obtain blood and other specimens from patients and process them correctly - Correctly process specimens received through the tube system or brought from outside sources. - Assist in clerical duties. - Disinfect all counters each shift. - Clean morgue when needed, and maintain supplies. - Perform courier duties when needed. - Must be able to engage both fellow employees and customers with compassion and respect. - All GSH Lab employees will promote the Hospital Mission and Vision statement: Provide excellent health care and promote healing through trusting relationships, and to be recognized as the regional center of excellence for health care.
