Job description

Transportation Supervisor 1 (NY HELPS) Required Qualifications: Per Civil Service Standards and Specifications. Must have taken and passed the specific job related Civil Service Exam and be reachable on the appropriate Civil Service list. The Civil Service list for this position might provide insufficient acceptors, therefore, a non-competitive appointment may be made through the NY HELPS Program (**see "Special Notes") . To qualify for this position through the NY HELPS Program you must meet one of the following requirements: Either 1. Current New York State Employee and have one year of permanent non-competitive service as a Motor Vehicle Operator or Bus Driver; OR 2. Three years of experience in the management or supervision of fleet operations or daily dispatching of motor vehicles from a pool of at least 30 vehicles; OR 3. six years of experience overseeing the maintenance of motor vehicles and keeping records and reports of that maintenance from a pool of at least 30 vehicles.
