City/State Norfolk, VA Work Shift: Weekend Nights Overview: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Oncology Unit. This is a Full Time, Weekend Night Shift (12-hour shift) position. Hours: 7:00pm to 7:00am - Three 12-hour shifts (36 hours per week between Friday and Monday). Department Overview: This unit cares for Medical and Surgical oncology patients in an inpatient, 36-bed unit. The unit is both an oncology unit and intermediate care! We are hiring compassionate Patient Care Technicians to support our nursing team with chemotherapy and hospice patients. The Patient Care Technician provides patient care, supports independent and dependent activities of daily living, vital signs, mobility and ambulation, phlebotomy, point of care testing, EKG testing, peripheral IV removal, specimen collection, and foley catheter insertion and removal, and complies with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional RN nurse.
