Registered Dental Hygienist (Part-time)

Job description

Primary Accountability The Registered Dental Hygienist is responsible for the provision of preventative and treatment services in a Patient Centered Health Home context, with a focus on access to care. Description of Primary Responsibilities: - Responsible in conducting oral health assessments. - Review/screen oral health conditions (which includes and is not limited to health history, oral cancer screenings, head/neck inspection, dental charting, blood pressure/pulse). - Take dental radiographs. - Take dental impressions and pouring models. - Responsible in performing all preventative and hygiene services in accordance with California Dental practice act. - Remove calculus and plaque (hard and soft deposits) from all surfaces of the dentition. - Polish and contour restorations. - Apply preventative materials to teeth (includes and not limited to sealants and fluoride). - Teach patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies (brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling.) - Responsible in maintaining sanitary/sterile armamentarium. - Adhere to current infection control procedures. - Assure operatory is sanitary and set up for procedure. - Work with dental assistants to make sure tha...
