College: SOWELA Department: Academic Affairs: Sub department: School of Transportation & Applied Technology Type of Appointment: Unclassified - Faculty 9 month Salary: Start rate of $42,000 with actual offer based on experience and education Duties and Responsibilities: • Responsible for teaching assigned aviation maintenance technology courses, and associated labs in accordance with the college’s workload policy. Required Education : High School Diploma or Equivalent * *Note: In accordance with FAA regulations, an individual must have either 18 months of practical experience in Airframe or Powerplant maintenance, or 30 months of combined experience in both areas to qualify for the FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification. While attending an FAA-approved Aviation Maintenance Technician School (AMTS) is a common path, it is not a mandatory requirement for certification. Required Experience : 5 years of related industry or equivalent military experience.
