Staff Software Engineer, Google Compute Engine

Job description

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience. - 8 years of software development experience with one or more general purpose programming languages (e.g., Java, C/C++, C#, Objective C, Python, JavaScript, or Go). - 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role. - 3 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems. Preferred qualifications: - Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. - Experience in advanced security (e.g., Authentication Protocols, Identity and Access Management Systems, etc.). - Expertise in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems in management, control, and data planes. - Ability to navigate and solve open-ended problems, utilizing innovative approaches to handle ambiguity and technical uncertainty. - Ability to build and drive technical roadmap and design with a broader engineering organization. - Excellent communication and presentation skills (e.g., written and verbal) and the ability to influence cross-functionally at various levels.
