Paint Engineer

Job description

Description Duties & Responsibilities: - Direct, and optimize paint fixtures, jigs, and robotic paint programs, including complex applications - Redesign, repair, replace, and maintain paint equipment, tooling, jigs, robotic programs, and production control hardware - Develop paint processes, methods, robot programs, fool-proofing systems, and production controls for new programs - Supervise the assembly, setup, and proofing of new paint tooling and equipment - Set up new paint and peripheral equipment, ensure proper operation, and train associates on correct use - Create and maintain operating procedures for new and existing equipment (JIS / WGS / MSOS) - Investigate and evaluate new painting technologies and recommend improvements when feasible - Apply TPS principles to improve cycle time, material inventory, and process flow - Ensure all problem-tracking documentation is completed for new and existing products Requirements: Strong understanding of paint application principles, paint and thinner properties Experience with robot programming and automated paint systems (ABB software preferred) Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail Ability t...
