Job Description Position: Cook 2: Department: Food and Beverage: Job Summary: Performs food preparation and portioning duties as directed. Duties and Responsibilities (specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to): - Coordinates with supervisors on food preparation. - Ensures that all the ingredients and necessary components for the menu items to be prepared during the shift are ready at the start of the shift (mise en place). - Prepares ingredients, including washing, peeling, portioning, chopping, and storing food. - Performs basic food production functions such as properly measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients; prepares food items by following a recipe; and performs basic cutting operations using basic knives and cutting board. - Assures that menus, recipes, methods, pictures, and specifications provided by supervisors are followed exactly. - Tests foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently. - Monitors food quality while preparing food; checks for proper consistency, temperatures, and flavors. - Sets-up and breaks down work and action stations. - Places food on the steam and cold tables; ensures food rotation and proper timing of foods. - M...
