Job Summary Seeking a confident and capable Intern willing to join the Horsham Mechanical Engineering Team to assist with daily activities related to Optical Transceiver design, thermal analysis\test and production manufacturing support. Looking for a motivated individual that is very open to the role possibly transitioning into a full-time long-term position. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: - Perform 3D modeling of parts, assemblies and drawings using Solidworks (preferred) - Understand heat-transfer fundamentals and possess the ability to perform FEA thermal analysis (experience with Flotherm a plus) - Interface with Electrical Engineers for collaboration on printed circuit board design layout - Perform stress simulations and/or motion studies within Solidworks (preferred) - Research and pursue samples for testing of new technologies such as vapor chamber, heat-pipes and advanced thermal transfer materials - Review and complete standard engineering checklists - Perform Design for Manufacturing (DFM) analyses - Assist with ongoing thermal studies with a focus on reducing internal component temperatures - Compile information for concept proposals and product design reviews - Ass...
