Under general direction of Pathology management, the Cytogenetics Lab Supervisor oversees the daily operations of a high‑complexity cytogenetics laboratory, ensuring accurate, timely, and reliable testing that supports critical patient care decisions. This role provides both technical expertise and leadership, guiding staff, managing workflow, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory and quality standards. The supervisor plays a key role in advancing the department’s mission by optimizing laboratory performance, supporting continuous improvement, and facilitating effective communication with clinical and administrative partners. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Oversees daily laboratory operations, including workflow management, scheduling, staffing, and workload distribution, to meet turnaround time expectations for routine, STAT, and ASAP testing. - Provides technical leadership for cytogenetic testing, supervising karyotyping, FISH, and microarray workflows for constitutional and hematologic samples; troubleshoot complex technical issues and resolve operational errors. - Supervises, trains, and develops laboratory personnel, conducting competency assessments, performance evaluations...
