Job description

Position Summary The Purchasing Manager is responsible to ensure effective management, control and development of the supply-chain, procurement of materials and services, negotiating cost reductions and implementation of contracts with suppliers. Co-ordination of cost reduction opportunities and improvements within the supply chain whilst reviewing best in class technology and alternative supply options. Defining the sourcing strategy to ensure continuity of supply of materials to meet production plans. Implementation of effective logistics models with suppliers to service optimally internal and external customer requirements. The Purchasing Manager will manage a staff of buyers and logistics, inventory and materials coordinators to achieve assigned strategic initiatives for Purchasing and/or the Business. The Purchasing Manager will play an active role in the solicitation, evaluation, and negotiation of material and/or service agreements.
