Job description

Position Summary: Ensures the Guthrie’s Campuses are safe and secure for patients, employees, and visitors by routinely patrolling all buildings and grounds and by responding as required to requests for assistance from patients, employees or visitors. Reports to the Regional Coordinator for Security or their designee. Applicants must be willing to submit to fingerprinting for a background check. Education, License & Cert: Classroom training in a field relevant to the security functions with course work in the behavioral sciences is strongly preferred. NYS registration as security guard, required (for New York sites). Can accept active law enforcement license in lieu of security guard registration (New York). Valid Drivers’ License required. High School Diploma or GED equivalency preferred. Experience: One or more years’ experience in institutional security, preferably in a health care facility or a similar setting, Working knowledge of the different departmental functions within a hospital or health care facility.
