Job Description: Performs supervisory solid waste recycling work. Work involves supervising the County's recycling program including program administration and staff supervision. Work requires a degree and experience in the field. Work is performed under general supervision. Essential Job Functions: Manages recycling program planning and development and the use of resources such as equipment, facilities, personnel, supplies and finances. Leads activities related to recycling operations problem solving. Manages all recycling equipment and facilities throughout the County, including convenience centers or other county facilities where recycling receptacles are placed. Oversees equipment maintenance and recycling programs to ensure safety and compliance with regulatory agencies. Investigates accidents and safety violations. Develops and administers annual recycling budget. Interacts with vendors, prepares bid specifications and bid proposals. Researches, applies for and follows through on recycling grants.
