Description Job Description: To operate and maintain a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner to obtain images on patients to diagnose the nature and extent of designated pathologies, while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of magnetic resonance imaging procedures and technology. Knowledge of specifications, standards, and tolerances for the operation of MRI equipment and facilities. Skill in the operation of magnetic resonance film processors and ancillary equipment. Verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills. Ability to monitor and/or maintain quality control standards. Ability to alleviate patient anxiety. Responsibilities: - Performs magnetic resonance imaging procedures. - Explains procedures to patient, obtains and records medical history relevant to the condition being viewed, selects appropriate equipment settings, and positions the patient in a manner to facilitate optimum imaging results. - Develops and views images to determine quality and forwards for review and interpretation; maintains applicable patient documentation. - Maintains adequate supplies and a clean work area; reports equipment malfunctions...
