Job description

The Weighmaster Role: Under general supervision, provides recordkeeping, basic customer service and administrative support at truck scales and in office. Shift: Wednesday-Saturday 6:45am-5:45pm: Essential Responsibilities: - Directs trucks to scale and records full and empty weights. - Calculates and collects fees and records charges. - Compiles record of inbound and outbound material weights by category (such as recyclables). - Performs data entry of types of commodities (e.g., green waste, recycled) on loads brought in by trucks; records material weights by category. - Inspects and ensures validity of loads. - Monitors truck radio; responds in case of emergency or problem. - Performs varied office tasks as needed. - May be required to calculate payment to customers for recycled materials. - For sites that accept hazardous waste materials: - Ensures that all materials being accepted are appropriate given stated standards. - Other duties as assigned Qualifications: One year of related experience in office or public contact work. - High School Diploma or GED preferred.
