Job Title Landfill Equipment Operator Wage $28.36 hourly (2026): Reports To Supervisor, Waste Management Operations Department Public Works: Location Waste Management Division, Various: Hours Seasonal Part Time, Up to 9 months, Normal Working Hours up to 24 hours per week, includes days, evenings and weekends. Other Travel throughout the City of Kawartha Lakes in accordance with job requirements; work locations may vary Job Description: - Operate and maintain front-end loader, roll off truck, waste compactor and any other landfill equipment - Segregate incoming materials moving to appropriate location/bin, and/or manually stack or package items (i.e. tires, electronics, scrap metal, hazardous waste,) for shipment - Ensure waste is disposed in proper location at the tip face and in accordance with design plans - Ensure proper compaction of waste in accordance with standard operating procedures - Apply cover material to exposed refuse in designated areas in accordance with standard operating procedures - Load recycling into bins or trailers using high lift loader - Prepare incident reports and other documentation - Pick up, delivery and emptying of roll off bins to, from and at vario...
