Description The School of Education in the College of Arts and Science at American University invites applications for two (2) term, non-tenure track, faculty appointments for academic year 2016-2017. Rank will be dependent on experience and stature in the field. The appointments are 9-month positions and will commence on August 29, 2016. Applicants should hold a PhD or other terminal degree in one of the following areas: curriculum and instruction, special education, urban education, international education or educational policy and leadership. Highly qualified applicants with all but dissertation in a field related to education will be considered. The position will require the incumbent to teach six courses per year which might include a combination of undergraduate and graduate courses. Successful candidates will also be responsible for providing advising and/or mentoring to undergraduate and graduate students in the School of Education. All faculty, including term faculty, are expected to participate in school, college, and University activities and service. Salary is competitive.
