Job description

Definition Performs a variety of tasks in ground and building maintenance at facilities of the school system to enhance appearance. Work involves the responsibility for the safe efficient operation and maintenance of motorized equipment such as backhoes, mowers, edgers, and other types of power equipment. The employee must exercise independent judgment and initiative in performing assigned duties. Employees in this class perform independent tasks in maintenance functions such as replacing glass and windows, replacing tile, making minor carpentry repairs, or providing equipment operation or manual labor for landscaping and grounds maintenance tasks. Duties and Responsibilities: - Performs work in the building or grounds work assigned, such as operating vehicles, mowers, tractors, installing windows and glass, replacing tile, and making minor repairs to bathrooms and other physical facilities. - Requests, maintains, and is responsible for the inventory and accountability of material, tools, repair parts, and equipment assigned and that is issued for use. - Maintains the grounds, grass, shrubbery, trees, walkways, steps, and retaining walls of all school properties. - Hauls trash, gra...
