Employment Type: Full time Shift: Description: Cytotechnologist Status: Full-time, 40 hours/week: Shift: Day shift: Location: Trinity Health Ann Arbor: Minimum Rate of Pay : $33.60 per hour Th Cytotechnologist performs all necessary laboratory procedures pertaining to accessioning, technical preparation of cytologic specimens and initial evaluation of prepared slides from all body sites. Required Education: Have graduated from a school of cytotechnology accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation or equivalent. Certified in cytotechnology by a certification agency approved by HHS (ASCP preferred). Experience: 1-3 years cytology experience preferred. Skills/Knowledge: Demonstrates a mastery of the theories, principles and techniques involved in the area of specialization. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Demonstrates proficiency and understanding of all laboratory preparatory techniques necessary to produce cytologic specimens, including smears, and cell blocks. Able to recognize and advise for corrective actions on sub optimally processed/prepared specimens. Collects, accessions, and prepares GYN, Non Gyn, and FNA specimens.
