Key duties and responsibilities for Deli Assistant Manager include managing customers, managing inventory, managing employees and schedules, and handling food. Customer Service: - Respond to and attend to customer requests in the deli department - Have a working knowledge of the grocery store inventory to assist customers - Respond to questions and complaints of customers in a polite manner Managing Deli Clerks: - Help design and implement training for deli clerks in food handling, equipment use, customer service expectations, inventory requirements, stocking and sanitation. - Schedule and supervise employees - Communicate and maintain food, customer service and cleanliness standards of Atlas Valley Purveyors Food Handling: - Responsible for preparing deli items, weighing and wrapping deli products - Maintains Food Safety Certification and follows the proper food handling procedures set by the County Health Department - Operate all food preparation machines and equipment - Ensure that products are properly labeled with prices and dates - Assist in preparation of menus, recipes and seasonal specials - Assist in training clerks in relevant food handling areas Managing Inventory Requi...
