Job description

QUALIFICATIONS: - High school diploma required. - Experience in a surgical facility preferred. - Computer experience preferred. - Requires language skills adequate for written and interpersonal communication - Require visual and auditory acuity adequate from frequent use of computers and occasional use of other business office equipment. Ability to sit for long periods and to perform desk and office activities. OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE: Category III exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may encounter chemical hazards. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Considers priorities and special needs when scheduling preoperative appointments, radiology and surgical procedures. - Schedules appointments and procedures according to facility and anesthesia staff availability, patient needs and physician’s block time. - Manages ‘off block’ or special physician requests in collaboration with the perioperative director and team. - Coordinates surgical preoperative appointment schedule as requested. - Maintains schedule according to procedure and physician’s time and staffing requirements. - Coordinates schedule assessing time and equipment availability; identifies conflicts and adjusts schedule as needed. - Prepares...
