Job description

Audubon is currently seeking an Ironworker I to join our team in our Off Site Office. The Ironworker I performs skilled fabrication, erection, and installation of structural steel, reinforced iron for industrial facilities. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Pulls or pries steel members into approximate position while member is supported by hoisting device. - Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings and other structures. - Sets up and breaks down hoisting equipment for raising and placing structural-steel members. - Fastens steel members to cable of hoist and signals to operator lifting equipment. - Safe use of power tools such as saws, drills, planes, sanders, routers and grinders. - Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job. - Identifies vertical and horizontal alignment of members. - Aligns bolt members to keep them in position until they can be permanently bolted. - Cut steel members to make alterations.
