Job description

JOB DUTIES: - Understand the technical aspects of radiation oncology and physics to derive computerized treatment plans and communicate these aspects to the Radiation Oncologist for plan approval and to the Radiation Therapists for plan implementation. - Accurately records charges for services and materials used or delegating charges to be recorded. - Demonstrates proper use and care of the radiation therapy equipment, simulating treatment equipment, and block set up (if applicable). - Demonstrates a high degree of competence and professionalism in performing responsibilities. JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS: Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities: Bachelor of Science degree required. Must have completed or be in the process of completing a formal medical dosimetry program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT), or foreign equivalent, and be eligible for graduation upon program completion. Must hold or be eligible to obtain American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (T) certification and Iowa Department of Public Health Permit to Practice.
