Rehabilitative or restorative care refers to nursing interventions that promote the residents ability to adapt and adjust to living as independently and safely as possible. This concept actively focuses on achieving and maintaining optimal physical, mental, and psychosocial functioning. Restorative care included is nursing interventions that assist to promote the residents ability to attain his or her maximum functional potential. The Restorative Aide works in conjunction with the Nursing Assistants and Nurses to promote rehabilitation and restorative service in Activities of Daily Living (A.D.L.) for the residents in the facility. He/she works in conjunction with the Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapist to assure A.D.L. potential is assessed appropriately and needs are met on a daily basis.
