We are the only PICU to receive this recognition in Michigan. There are only 33 PICU’s in the nation that have received Beacon status and only 12 of them Gold status. The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) created the Beacon Award for Excellence to recognize individual units that distinguish themselves by improving every facet of patient care.
