Description Job Summary: This is skilled work performed inside the county jail. An employee in this class is responsible for the filing and maintenance of all inmates medical files. This person may interact directly with inmates. The Medical Clerk must maintain the medical records in an organized manner so patient information is readily available at all times. This person must be proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel, and other databases to assist in billing. The Medical Clerk must have the ability to become proficient with the EMR system utilized by the jail. This person needs to be able to manage the office of the medical department. Major Essential Duties: - Maintain computerized files, hard files, and reports of all inmate health records. - Maintain all records and assist in procedures for invoice billing to appropriate agencies. Billings include medical, dental, and hospital invoices for all inmates. - Maintain all medical records in an updated and organized manner at all times.
