Service (Road) Forklift Battery Technician

Description SUMMARY: The Forklift Battery Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and installing customer’s forklift batteries and chargers in various material handling equipment. Must be able to verify the battery or charger is up to safety standards. Must maintain working knowledge of and proficiency in all OSHA and local requirements related to all assigned work. Must be extremely safety conscious to avoid potentially being injured by acid, fumes, electric shock, or chemical explosions. Requirements: SKILLS/RESPONSIBILITIES: - Communicate with suppliers about warranty issues. - Able to burn lead to make connections and case connectors. - Responsible for diagnostics on batteries, acid adjustments, rebuilds by replacing cells, connectors, cables, etc. to batteries. - Monitor and request supplies used in battery charger and repair shop, such as: acids, cells, tape, connectors, etc. - Keep inventory of all changing system parts in inventory. - Be able to do all repairs to changers and systems. - Charging, rotation, cleaning, and watering of batteries. - Build relationships with internal and external customers and vendors - Receive all new batteries, record s...
