Job description

Description The purpose of this position is to operate scales and package sealing equipment and palletize finished cases in accordance with customer specifications. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Manage the flow of harvested lettuce through the conveyor belts and scales. - Place cartons and lids onto conveyor belts while keeping pace with the machinery. - Ensure labeling and date code correspond with lettuce being harvested for the shift. - Read scales and check case weights according to customer specifications. - Manually package sealed cartons into corrugated cases. - Maintain a flow of corrugated cases to the next stage in the packaging process. - Stack finished corrugated cases onto wooden pallets. - Lift and carry up to 30 lbs. safely. - Troubleshoot mechanical issues and assist Maintenance in identifying problems. - Work in teams ensuring that the conveyor system does not back up and become jammed with product - Rotate to different positions during the shift. - Determine if product meets proper specifications or not and take corrective action as needed. - Manage time efficiently to meet goals while consistently producing quality products. - Sanitation & cleanup of all process...
