Job description

Description To prayerfully provide support to a lead teacher in charge of a classroom. Duties may include helping to create lesson plans, documenting progress, grading, overseeing lesson preparations, helping with lunch and/or recess, and reinforcing lessons by tutoring individual students or small groups. Coordinate with classroom teachers and reading specialist the following duties: These responsibilities are governed by the fact that the teaching assistant needs to be a Christian example and role model. - Help students individually with phonetic exercises - Assist students when reading aloud in class or in groups - Periodic individualized Sight Word assessments - Quarterly individualized reading assessments - Administer make-up oral tests - Grade student work to allow for immediate feedback - Gives individual attention to students who struggle with reading skills - Provide extended lessons to individual students who need enforcement of new concepts - Collaborate with teachers regarding student’s strengths and weaknesses - Provide extra help with Bible and Reading activities - Provide supervision to students who are sick and waiting for a parent to pick them up Personal Qualities...
