POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Supervisor, Port Security, the Gateway Operator is responsible for the daily monitoring, reporting, coordination, and overall operation of the Prince Rupert Gateway. The Gateway Operator is primarily responsible for security, road, rail, and marine operational duties with support and guidance from the Supervisor, Port Security and other gateway operations leadership. The Gateway Operator is responsible for various administrative tasks including, but not limited to, permit approvals, declarations of security, operational reports, and management of the harbour schedule. The Gateway Operator plays a key role in emergency response, supporting effective monitoring, reporting, and coordination of response activities. POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES: - Maintains awareness of all marine activity via radar, AIS, CCTV cameras and other online resources. - Ensures that procedures for transporting and storing dangerous goods and explosives within port limits are maintained and monitors compliance with such procedures. - Ensures continuous monitoring of vessel movements within the Port, including assigning berths and anchorages. - Assists in the smooth & efficient m...
