Thompson First Group is currently seeking a Chemical Buyer for a local client in York, PA. Candidates who have a chemistries background and experience working within supply chain are encouraged to apply. Overview of position: - Know, measure, and drive to meet or exceed Key Performance Indicators. - Develop and deploy procurement strategies that provides security of supply, timely delivery, and cost competitive materials of appropriate quality. - Ensures business continuity, governance and management for all types of supplier risk, through Alternate Materials / Sources, Supply Agreements, Relationship Management. - Analyze market structure, trends, technical developments and regulatory trends that impact competitiveness and/or affect availability and delivered cost of materials and services. - Own negotiation of contracts and supply agreements. - Communicate the supply management risks and opportunities to all levels within organization. - Maintain and manage high level relationships with strategic suppliers.
