Overview Temporary Summer Employment - Carpenter Shop- 3 to 4 month assignment from April through August. The Temporary Carpenter possesses comprehensive knowledge of every facet of the carpentry trade. With minimal oversight, the journey level carpenter performs minor and major repairs; remodels, refurbishes and renovates rooms and structures inside and out; and undertakes all types of workshop related tasks. Rate of pay is $35.00 per hour. Responsibilities: - Observes University safety regulations at all times by wearing appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) and performs tasks in the safest manner possible whether alone or in a group setting. - Ensures proper care and safe use of University vehicles, tools and equipment. - Produces consistent, professional quality results in all aspects of rough and finish carpentry, including framing, insulating and sheet-rock installation; mounting windows, doors, and associated hardware; fabricating Formica tops and back-splashes; fence installation and repair; stair, deck and railing construction; setting cabinets and countertops; laying flooring of all types, fitting acoustical ceiling tiles and hanging grid-work; etc. - Makes prec...
