The Role: The Aviation Security (AvSec) Group plays a vital role in ensuring that all participants in the UK aviation industry are kept safe and secure. This is aided by the Aviation Security Compliance (ASC) Team and their oversight of airports, airlines, and other aviation partners to ensure their compliance with globally established aviation security regulation. The group’s responsibilities include conducting security observations, inspections, audits, and tests which enables the Secretary of State for Transport to meet their legal obligations.
