Description JOB SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the Health Information Management Team the Transcriptionist transcribes dictated reports in accordance with TJC, federal, state, and local guidelines, organizational and departmental policies and procedures. Communicates with medical staff, other departments, and outside agencies while maintaining confidentiality. Position requires self-motivation, creativity, and capabilities to function in a semi-autonomous role within a fast pace and dynamic environment. Status : PRN - As needed STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE: 1. Ensures adherence to proper infection control, OSHA and safety standards. 2. Maintains a 95% accuracy rate of all transcribed medical dictation using dictation equipment provided. 3. Maintains a 95% accuracy rate of spelling of medical terms and other words; utilizes correct punctuation and grammar. 4. Maintains 100% accuracy rate of all patient names and numbers for all reports; accurately transcribes patient identification and physician identification on all reports. 5. Accurately transcribes a minimum of 10 minutes of dictation per hour. 6. Transcribes dictated reports in a timely manner. Completes transcription from...
